Constance LAUREAU

Since March 2024, Constance Laureau has been part of the European and International Coordination Department at the FRB.

She first worked within the European project RESPIN, which aims to assess the incetives and barriers to the engagement of experts with IPBES and IPCC and to strengthen the links between these two platforms.

Since September 2024, Constance Laureau has been the coordinator of the COOP4CBD project. In the context of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), this project aims to strengthen the role of scientific expertise in supporting European Union negotiators. It also seeks to assist States in implementing the decisions made at Biodiversity COPs.
Committed to strengthening the links between academic research and the private sector, Constance Laureau is also working on the development of Proches, a platform supporting partnership research on biodiversity. This platform connects the academic world with various types of stakeholders (private sector, NGOs, local authorities, etc.). It thus facilitates the co-construction and funding of research projects with a societal impact. In parallel, Constance Laureau is currently expanding her activities at the interface between biodiversity and business through her involvement in the Biodiversa+ program.

Constance Laureau holds a PhD in Plant Ecophysiology (University of Paris-Saclay). For several years, she conducted research on the physiological mechanisms underlying plant acclimation to extreme climatic conditions, particularly in alpine and arctic species. Committed to increasing the role of science in education and in supporting decision-making, she has also worked as an instructional designer for educational institutions and companies.
